President – CJ
CJ is a sophomore from Lovett College, majoring in Sports Analytics and Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship. CJ was raised in Shanghai and attended High School in Maryland. CJ has a strong passion for entrepreneurship and sports, hoping to bring these two together after graduation. This past summer, CJ worked at Machete Group, a Sports Real Estate boutique finance company based in Houston. He helped advise the acquisition of multiple MiLB teams. During his free time, CJ enjoys watching and playing sports, specifically tennis. Teams CJ follows include: LA Lakers, Machester City, McLaren, AZ Cardinals,and he is a big Nick Kyrgios fan.
Vice President – Amalia Kertsikoff
Amalia Kertsikoff is a sophomore at Rice University studying managerial economics and organizational studies with a minor in entrepreneurship, particularly interested in bio-medical sciences. She founded and received national praise for her charity which gave back to frontline medical workers during the pandemic. Amalia served as Alumni Ambassador at St Catherine’s British School in Athens. She co-founded and operates the Rice Entrepreneurship Club. She has lived in Chicago, London, Athens, Paris and Houston.
Event Manager – Sutton Walsh
Sutton Walsh is a sophomore at Lovett College pursuing a double major in Business and Sport Management with a minor in Spanish. She competes on the Rice Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field team, serves as a leader for Owls for Christ, and is a Peer Academic Advisor for Rice Athletes. She is a lifelong Houstonian and graduate of The Post Oak High School. Eager to embrace her Montessori roots, she has thrived in navigating Rice’s path of unconventional learning. She is an effective leader and innovator with experience in organizing various school functions and launching start-ups relating to her passions. She is the founder of two original brands – Simply Sutton (athleisure) and Sut+Jo Treats To-Go (home bakery). She hopes to better her Rice community by serving as event manager for Rice’s Entrepreneurship Club. She has proven to effectively and strategically lead groups, and produce events that set records in attendance and student participation.
Marketing Director – Joyce
Joyce is a sophomore at Rice University pursuing a double major in Business and Health Sciences and an Asian studies minor. Her main passion lies in the intersection of business and healthcare, and she’s very interested in exploring these concepts within the startup space. As the marketing manager of the Rice Entrepreneurship club, she believes that entrepreneurship in particular has the power to amplify and enhance health care systems. Her past ventures include co-founding OpporTeenity, a startup empowering companies to effectively engage with teens. In her free time, she loves weightlifting, trying new coffee shops, and exploring thrift stores in Houston!
External Outreach – Paul
Paul is a Sophomore at Lovett College majoring in Business and minoring in Film and Entrepreneurship. He is originally from Grand Rapids, MI. Last summer, he worked at a commercial real estate private equity firm called Lovett Commercial in Houston, TX. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, trying new restaurants, and exploring Houston.
